Reporting on the 2022 International Job Fair in the Dominican Republic
It’s been International Job Fair season at Greenheart! In December, staff traveled with our Host Organizations to meet and conduct in-person interviews with aspiring Summer Work and Travel participants in several countries.
The Job Fair with our partner, OFIT, in the Dominican Republic was a huge success! Over four days, our 12 Host Organizations hired 447 participants!

“Without a doubt, I prefer an in-person job fair. I was so impressed with the support we had from Greenheart at this event. It was our first time participating in this program and we felt welcomed from the first moment we arrived. I really loved being able to meet the participants in-person and connect with them face-to-face, so much more impactful than virtually over Zoom. I felt that this in-person interaction allowed us to build a relationship and make this a very positive experience for the students.”

“This was the first in-person fair that I have ever attended and it was an eye opener in so many ways! I immediately recognized the importance of going. I feel it is essential to see where the students come from, it gives you a great understanding of who they are. Also, you have something you can relate and discuss with them and they like talking and hearing what you think and feel about their country and where they come from. The one-on-one gives the students more of a comfort to have someone they know they can look to when they arrive.”
“The job fair was absolutely perfect, it was far and above what I expected as a new host. The participants provided for us were top-notch. The process was easy and efficient, it was time well spent!”
And thanks to OFIT’s hospitality, we had an opportunity to give back to the community by visiting and playing with the children at an orphanage. Thanks to our Host Organizations, Sending Agencies, and all the folks who came out to the Job Fair.
