4 Ways to Document Your Visit!

By: Tiernaur Anderson, Marketing and Outreach Intern

Keeping records of your travels always pays off after your adventures are over, but it can be hard to motivate yourself to do it at the time.  You don’t want to get so distracted by documenting your stay that you forget to experience it while it happens. Here are my top 4 tips for how to remember your visit while still living in the moment!

  1. Use a photo-a-day app like Day One.

Taking a photo a day is a great way to document your adventures. It doesn’t require a large time commitment, it is easy to quickly create a timeline of your summer, and it is even easier to look through once your program is over!  After your summer is over, it can be really easy to forget details or the impact it had on your worldview. Snapping a quick photo will help bring back that memory.

  1. Write in a journal every day.

This can sometimes seem overwhelming, but even just jotting down bullet points can be a great way to remember your days, weeks, and months in the United States. It can take as much or as little time as you’d like.

  1. Save mementos!

Things like ticket stubs, programs, brochures, or other small keepsakes are all great items that serve as a reminder of your time abroad. They can be collected in a box, a notebook, or even just a paper bag. Extra points for jotting down the date and context on the back!

  1. Create a vlog.

This is more time intensive, but if you enjoy projects that allow for more creative choices, it can be a fantastic way to remember your trip! It’s also a useful way to keep family, friends, and even Greenheart updated on your journeys and serves as a polished record of your time in the United States.

No matter how you choose to document your adventure, share those memories with Greenheart!
